Award Categories

There are five categories of Awards this year. You may enter more than one category if you are eligible. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.

Best New Business - less than 4 years old

This award is open to businesses less than 4 years old on 1 July 2010 within the awards area. It is designed to recognise success and achievement and support the potential growth and ongoing contribution that the business will make to the local economy.

Best Entrepreneur or Business providing an Economic and/or Social Contribution to the Region over the past 3 years

This award is open to entrepreneurs and businesses that have made a demonstrable economic or social contribution over the past 3 years within the awards area. It is designed to encourage those who have made a difference by generating jobs, achieving regeneration or contributing to the local economy.

Best Entrepreneurial Social Enterprise or Charity

This award is open to social enterprises or entrepreneurial charities within the awards area. Open to organisations that can demonstrate that their entrepreneurial flair has resulted in a contribution to social and charitable causes.

Any application from an organisation in the Liverpool City Council area will also be automatically considered for 'Best Entrepreneurial Charity or Social Enterprise in Liverpool'.

Best Young Entrepreneur - less than 25 years old

This award is open to individuals under 25 years old on 1 July 2010 within the awards area. Designed to encourage young entrepreneurs and find the business leaders of tomorrow, this award can be entered by those that have already started a business or those who have a potential business they wish to develop.

'Against All Odds'

This award is open to businesses and individuals who have faced disadvantage or disability within the awards area. Aimed at encouraging those who have had to overcome major obstacles or disadvantage to achieve outstanding entrepreneurial success, this award offers support for continued growth.
