2008 Winner - Best Young Entrepreneur
Trendy Vend produce stylish vending machines for the female washroom. The machines incorporate an LCD advertising screen which will be used to support public awareness campaigns. A very new business, Trendy Vend has been able to expand its custom built installations, with seven more coming on line in new venues in May 2009. One of these will be a prototype for a male version.
Kayleigh and Talia Baccino report that winning the Awards has helped buy new machines and expand the business more quickly. This has not only increased revenue, but has increased brand awareness promoting Trendy Vend. This will allow them to reach the stage of franchising within the next six to twelve months.
Having the funds to join the BNI Networking Group has introduced Trendy Vend to some key contacts from which they have secured new venues. It has also enabled them to work together with a PR company to promote the advertising services on the vending machines.
Kayleigh and Talia say, “Winning the Morgan Foundation Best Young Entrepreneur 2008 Award has made a huge difference to our business. It has not only provided us with the essential capital to expand our business, but it has also gained us invaluable PR, added that special credibility factor to the business and given us the confidence and belief that we can achieve great things with our business.
“Applying for the Morgan Foundation Awards has been one of the best things we have done so far in business. We feel very privileged and proud to have won the award and are grateful for the funding, support and PR we have had as a result of winning. We would strongly encourage other small businesses or young entrepreneurs with new ideas to apply for future Morgan Foundation Awards.”
